Five-banded barbs have not always been considered suitable fish for beginner due to being more difficult to manage, but with LFS the five banded barbs are normally tank raised to they become easier.

  • Food: small live or frozen aquatic invertebrates, such as daphnia, mosquito larvae, and blood worm. Flake foods. Green foods

The Ruby Barbs can be very misleading because only the male will exhibit the rich red colour. As you can see form above the have several names due to the varying colours available, to achieve their best colours have both sexes in a small shoal.
